Q. Why USB flash drive shuts down PC (Win Xp)?
A. If your USB flash drive works in other PC and PC power supply is good, the best advice to fix that problem is to download SP3(service pack) for Win XP as stand-alone full version file from Microsoft and install it.
Updating Win XP (SP3) via Windows Update cannot fix that problem.
Remember SP3.exe file is about 316 Mb. That file overides all existing files and drivers for Win XP.
